Most dust boots are made for 65mm spindles. Your XCarve Pro runs 59mm — and that gap costs you suction, stability, and clean cuts. This boot is built specifically for the XCarve Pro 2x2 and 4x4, with a true 59mm opening that fits like it was made for your machine. Because it was.

Why XCarve Pro owners love it:

  • 🎯 Precision 59mm fit — eliminates the wobble, air leaks, and suction loss you get with generic 65mm boots
  • 🧲 Magnetic quick-release — strong neodymium magnets hold the brush skirt firm during cuts; pops off in seconds for bit changes
  • 💨 4" dust hose port — optimized airflow path for maximum chip capture; adapters available for all hose sizes from 1.25" to 5"
  • 🇺🇸 Small-batch, US-made — high-strength PETG polymer, nylon bristles, rare earth magnets
  • 🔁 Replaceable brush skirt — spare brushes available separately so you're never down for long

Frequently asked questions

Does this dust boot fit the XCarve Pro 2x2 and 4x4?

Yes — this boot is purpose-built for both the XCarve Pro 2x2 and XCarve Pro 4x4. It uses a true 59mm opening that matches the Inventables 59mm spindle exactly, eliminating the air gaps and suction loss you get with generic 65mm boots.

What spindle diameter does this boot fit?

This boot is designed for the 59mm Inventables spindle used on the XCarve Pro. It is not compatible with 65mm (Makita), 69mm, or 80mm spindles — we make separate boots for those. If you are unsure of your spindle size, measure the outer diameter of the spindle body just above the collet.

How does the magnetic quick-release work?

The brush skirt attaches to the main body via neodymium rare-earth magnets embedded in both halves. During cutting the magnets hold the skirt firmly against the work surface. To change a bit, simply pull the skirt straight down — it detaches in one motion with no tools, latches, or screws. Reattach by pressing it back up until you feel the magnets seat.

What vacuum or dust collector hose size does it accept?

The hose port has a 2.5-inch OD (outer diameter). We sell quick-connect hose adapters separately covering 1.25-inch, 1.5-inch, 2.5-inch, and 4-inch hoses — so it works with standard shop vacs, dust deputies, and larger shop dust collectors.

Will it clear my end mills and V-bits?

The standard brush length is 3 inches (76.2mm), which clears most 1/4-inch and 1/8-inch upcut spirals, V-bits, and surfacing bits used on the XCarve Pro. For longer tooling — such as long-reach end mills or bowl-cutting bits — add a 1/2-inch or 1-inch brush spacer to lower the skirt and maintain a good seal.

How do I install it on my XCarve Pro?

The boot clamps around the spindle body using the integrated split-collar mount. Loosen the two M4 screws, slide the boot up onto the 59mm spindle to your preferred height, then snug the screws to lock it in place. No drilling or modification to your XCarve Pro is required. Total install time is typically under five minutes.

What is the boot made from?

The main body is CNC-milled from high-strength PETG polymer, which is rigid, chip-resistant, and dimensionally stable. The brush uses nylon bristles that flex with the work surface for a consistent seal. Retention is handled by neodymium rare-earth magnets. All components are sourced and assembled in the United States in small batches.

Can I replace the brush skirt when it wears out?

Yes. Replacement brush skirts are available separately in both Full and Split configurations. The Split version makes installation easier if you don't want to remove the boot from your spindle. You never need to replace the entire boot — just the skirt.

Does it work with the XCarve Pro dust collection hose support arm?

Yes. The 2.5-inch hose port is compatible with the Inventables overhead hose support arm. We also sell our own EMT-mounted dust hose support kit that keeps the hose off the work surface and follows the gantry — a popular upgrade for XCarve Pro 4x4 users running large sheets.

How is this different from the generic dust boot that came with my XCarve Pro?

The stock XCarve Pro dust boot is a 65mm generic design with an adapter sleeve to fit the 59mm spindle — this creates wobble and an air gap that reduces suction. The P2P boot uses a native 59mm collar with no adapter sleeve, giving you a tighter fit, better airflow, and less vibration transfer. It also uses stronger neodymium magnets than the stock release mechanism.
