🔀 Full Brush vs. Split Brush
Both are the same 3" USA-made nylon bristle on the same magnetic mount. The difference is whether the ring of bristles is continuous or divided in two.

Is the brush included with the dust boot?
Yes. Every P2P dust boot ships with a 3" (76.2mm) USA-made nylon brush skirt already installed on it — you do not buy the brush separately. The brushes listed in our store are optional spares and replacements for when yours wears down or gets trimmed too short.
What's the difference between a full brush and a split brush?
A full brush is one continuous ring of bristles — the best seal and the strongest suction, ideal for long runs on a single bit. A split brush is that same ring divided into two halves, so you can part it and reach the bit without pulling the skirt off the boot — handy if you change tools constantly. This boot ships with the full brush; a split skirt drops onto the same magnets any time.
Does this dust boot fit the XCarve Pro 2x2 and 4x4?
Yes — it's purpose-built for both. The true 59mm opening matches the Inventables 59mm spindle exactly, eliminating the air gaps and suction loss you get with generic 65mm boots.
What spindle diameter does it fit?
The 59mm Inventables spindle used on the XCarve Pro. It is not compatible with 65mm (Makita), 69mm, or 80mm spindles — we make separate boots for those. Unsure? Measure the outer diameter of the spindle body just above the collet.
How does the magnetic quick-release work?
The brush skirt attaches via neodymium magnets in both halves. They hold the skirt firmly during cuts; to change a bit, pull the skirt straight down — it detaches in one motion with no tools. Press it back up until the magnets seat.
What hose size does it accept?
The hose port is 2.5" OD, and one adapter in your size is included at no extra cost — just tell us at checkout. We also sell quick-connect adapters separately for 1.25", 1.5", 2.5", and 4" hoses if you need a second size, so it works with standard shop vacs, dust deputies, and larger collectors.
Will it clear my end mills and V-bits?
The standard 3" (76.2mm) brush clears most 1/4" and 1/8" upcut spirals, V-bits, and surfacing bits. For longer tooling, add a 1/2" or 1" brush spacer to lower the skirt and keep a good seal.
How do I install it?
Clamp it around the spindle body with the integrated split-collar mount: loosen the two M4 screws, slide the boot onto the 59mm spindle at your preferred height, then snug the screws. No drilling or modification — typically under five minutes.
Can I replace the brush skirt when it wears out?
Yes. Replacement skirts are available separately in Full and Split configurations. The Split version installs without removing the boot. You never need to replace the whole boot — just the skirt.

I really do love my X-CARVE PRO 4x4 but would also love to slap whoever designed the sidecar dust shoe. As someone who regularly cuts the full width of 48", the factory dust shoe runs into the gantry on the right! I have the option of mounting this Pixels to Prototype shoe oriented forward on my spindle ensuring it will never run into any other part of the CNC. I run a 5" dust collection system and the 5" adjuster included with the kit fit perfectly! The spindle fit was also perfect -- It took me longer to find the right sized tool than it did to install!!!
